Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The Office of SAMH is statutorily responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders. Florida State Hospital (FSH) is a mental health treatment facility owned and operated by the State of Florida and is part of the Department of Children and Families. THIS ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE USED TO FILL MULTIPLE VACANCIES. This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve as Pharmacist : OPS. This position will collaborate with each section within the state facilities and be required to use independent judgement, take initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities and should be extraordinarily detail oriented. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include: stylemargin:bottom:7.0px::This position requires lifting, pulling, and squatting. The incumbent must spend at least 75 percent of his or her time performing duties which involve contact with patients or inmates in a correctional or forensic facility or institution.:Responsible for supervising, training, and coaching a group of Pharmacy Technicians. Interprets, dispenses, monitors and verifies physician order, supervises pharmacy technician in filling medication orders. Responsible for restocking the automated dispense system with the assistance of the Pharmacy Technicians in accordance with the established policy and procedures. :Consults with physicians and nurses regarding physician's orders Monitors inventory and advises assistant pharmacy directors on ordering medications. *Responsible for the appropriate handling of control substances according to Federal and State guidelines:Responsible for monitoring the physician reorder procedure and retrieving the restock, returns, and inventory items not in stock reports. Handles Medication Exception Requests in a timely and efficient manner according to established policy and procedures.:Consults with other pharmacists and clinical pharmacists, reference materials and other related sources about resident medication, new drug therapies and related matters. Supervises the removal of outdated medications for the Techs assigned area. Responsible for the monitoring program to remove deteriorated pharmaceuticals to a quarantine area and the preparation for pick up by waste company. :Participation in a monitoring program to remove manufacturer drug recalls.
