We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing tax team to help drive this mission forward. As Senior Tax Accountant, you will work directly with clients to create and recommend tax planning and savings strategies, prepare complex business and individual tax returns, and identify and offer additional client service opportunities from our suite of services. Areas of Responsibility Manage client relationships with a high standard of proactive communication Consult with clients on tax matters and deliver tailored tax strategies Prepare and review tax deliverables efficiently, accurately, and timely Mentor and develop peers and associates Improve workflow processes to create efficiencies and optimize client experience Activity Summary Optimize team throughput and quality: Provide first-level review of tax returns, estimates, projections, workpapers, and other tax deliverables efficiently and to a high standard of accuracy and quality Prepare complex tax returns, estimates, projections, and tax strategies Perform tax research to answer questions, support tax strategy recommendations, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Support management in meeting and exceeding production targets and deadlines for yourself and associates you are responsible for Prioritize client experience: Maintain and strengthen strong client relationships by managing their expectations, consistently delivering value, and prioritizing both proactive and responsive communications Translate “tax code” into “business owner speak” Identify and operationalize areas where clients can save money on taxes Identify and offer additional client service opportunities (such as bookkeeping, virtual CFO, M&A due diligence) Research and consult on complex tax matters and proactive solutions for clients Work with clients to resolve complaints or quality issues Continuous improvement: Identify and help execute on opportunities to improve team and client communication, processes, and collaboration Identify technology that will improve efficiency and accuracy Measures of Success Client satisfaction, loyalty and advocacy Timeliness and accuracy of tax deliverables Development of technical skills Process improvements Expectations for Remote Work Clean, quiet video background Business casual attire for client interactions “Core” hours overlapping with other team members to collaborate efficiently We provide a laptop, 2 monitors, and docking station as needed You’re a good fit for Red Bike if: You’re an exceptional communicator who puts client experience front and center You have a deep desire to help businesses grow and prosper with smart tax and finance strategy You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can multitask, prioritize, and organize your work autonomously You take ownership of your work and your clients and drive projects to completion Are “analytically creative” and take time to understand client’s tax situation, form insights, and recommend courses of action Are a continuous learner who is committed to ongoing learning and application of best practices and latest updates in tax, tax strategy, and technology You want a career and long-term client and team relationships, not a job Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s in accounting from an accredited college or university 1-3 years experience reviewing business and individual returns Minimum 3 years experience preparing corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, multistate returns, planning, and projections. RSU/employee stock, real estate, and trust experience a plus.
