PURPOSE OF POSITION Covenant House Missouri (CHMO) welcomes youth who are runaway, trafficked, at-risk, or experiencing homelessness with unconditional love, absolute respect, and a place to call home. Beyond shelter and basic needs, we deliver transformative solutions to help young people ages 16 to 24 build productive, independent, and sustainable lives. The Strategic Partnerships Director is a new role for the organization. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced development professional to join our Advancement Team. This position will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with corporate partners, donors, and other stakeholders, ensuring sustainable support for the agency. This position will focus on stewardship, engagement, and collaboration to enhance the impact of our fundraising initiatives. SUMMARY OF DUTIES 1. Partnership Cultivation and Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with corporations, foundations, government agencies, and community organizations aligned with our mission and objectives. Develop tailored partnership strategies to engage potential partners and leverage their resources to advance organizational goals. 2. Grant Management: Supervise, coach, and support the Grant & Donor Research Manager. Support the organization's grant management process, including researching funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet grant reporting requirements. 3. Supporting Executive Staff and Board in Fund Development: Assist all key leaders within the organization in cultivating relationships with high-level stakeholders, including major donors, board members, and government officials. Provide strategic guidance and support to leadership in identifying and pursuing strategic partnership opportunities that align with organizational priorities. Ensure all engagements are tracked and documented and that timely follow-up is scheduled. Assist in the tracking of board member's give/get goals. 4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, including program management, finance, communications, and development, to align partnership activities with organizational priorities and ensure seamless implementation. Facilitate communication and collaboration between external partners and internal stakeholders to maximize the impact of strategic partnerships. 5. Policies, Procedures, Monitoring, and Evaluation: Lead the team in developing departmental policies regarding gift acceptance, data collection practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor the progress and impact of strategic partnerships, tracking key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of partnership strategies. Take responsibility for gathering departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. Prepare regular reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders to communicate partnership achievements, outcomes, and adherence to established policies and procedures. 6. Advocacy and Public Relations: Represent the organization at events, conferences, and meetings to raise awareness of its work, advocate for policy changes, and promote partnership opportunities. Collaborate with the communications team to develop messaging and materials that highlight the nonprofit's impact and partnerships. SUPERVISORY DUTIES Grants & Donor Research Manager WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Regular contact with all CHMO staff, donors, vendors, suppliers, board members, volunteers, and outside agencies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with MS Office applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience working within a CRM/Donor Database, or other database platform required. Ability to proactively organize and prioritize work, resolve problems, and manage multiple activities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills in interacting with staff, volunteers, guests, donors, and media. Experience with public speaking, capacity to share compelling stories to impact and influence others. Knowledge of how a non-profit Development or Advancement department functions. Previous experience working in human service agencies and/or with the homeless population is a plus. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field (business, communications, non-profit, etc.) with a minimum of 2 years working within a CRM/donor database or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years working within a CRM/donor database. WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS Moderate concentration. Frequent interruptions. Moderate noise level. Moderate sitting, standing, eye strain, light walking, bending, and lifting.
