About the role:The Accounts Receivable Manager, USA is a key member of the US finance organization supporting all ALS businesses in the US. He/She will be responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and monitoring the systems, processes, and activities of the Accounts Receivable department to ensure smooth transaction processing, optimize employee productivity, and contribute to maximizing profitability and cash flows of the ALS USA Group. In addition, this role is responsible for continuous improvement across the Order to Cash process, as well as supporting the Oracle roll out to recently acquired companies. * Plan, evaluate, implement and continuously improve all aspects of the order to cash process. * Management and Development of the Accounts Receivable team, including weekly/monthly KPI reviews and annual performance reviews. * Ensure professional relationships are established and maintained with clients and internal stakeholders. * Weekly review of the Accounts Receivable Aging report to ensure data integrity. * Development of the strategy and detailed action plan to decrease past due % and DSO. * Direct interaction with clients to understand outstanding issues that are preventing payment and working with internal stakeholders on resolution. * Implementation of all accounts receivable process controls required by the group, including data reconciliations, full application of authorization matrix and segregation of duties. * Drive improvement in the cash application process with daily monitoring of the automated tool and dashboard. * Train new team members as needed. * Serve as back up for team for PTO/vacation. * Support special projects (i.e. reduction in unapplied cash, Dunning improvements, Oracle collections strategy development, LIMS enhancements). * Support new acquisitions' transition to Oracle including data validation, testing, change-management, training and issue resolution. * Manage information requests during external, internal, and tax audits. * Other duties as assigned.ResponsibilitiesAbout you: * Solid knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. * Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and keen attention to detail. * Strong systems skills, including the understanding of how systems can be leveraged to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes and overall performance. * The ability to build and foster relationships across the organization. * Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as negotiation skills. * Experience in leading a team and implementing process improvements. * Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, large organization and thrive under pressure. * Ability to work independently with little supervision, provide timely and clear communication, and lead with accountability for results.Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related areas. * Solid understanding of accounting principles, with a Minimum of five years of practical experience in accounts receivable, general accounting, and account reconciliations. * Practical experience with Oracle and internal control risk mitigation.Physical Demands: * The ability to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management, and clients. * Ability to sit and/or stand for 100% of an 8-hour day. * Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer, syringes, and other equipment.QualificationsWorking at ALS:Our people are our most valuable asset and drive our success at ALS.We are a diverse community of dedicated professionals united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
